See a few highlights of our events this April 2026 at the 14th Sustainability Week Zurich "Sharing the Future"

FoodSave Lunch, every day during the NHWZ
Every day at our main tent in Irchel Campus, we offered free lunch of saved food for everyone. This event was organised by aki and foodsave teams who collaborate with us each year. This continues to be a popular event which throws light on food waste by showing practical solution of how to avoid it.

Sustainabile PubQuiz, ETH Polyterrasse, Monday
This was our second PubQuiz after last year and one of or most popular events. The questions were all about a variety of questions broadly related to sustainability, climate change, food, planetary systems and more. The quiz was organised at the bQm bar at ETH Zentrum.

Living Library & Flying Dinner, UZH Irchel Tent, Monday
This event had a creative approach to discussing plant-based food and filled our entire tent. Organised by the Student Sustainability Committee (SSC) at ETH, this event had several places each with one expert explaining one story around a food item. After a few minutes, the audience then switches to another storyteller and new food.

Create or Collapse? ZHAW Europaallee, Tuesday
This game invented by students of ZHAW aims to make sustainability and climate topics. The game was designed to engage people with climate and sustainability topics while also promoting activity using hands and without online tools. On Tuesday, they did both Mini Rounds as well as Play-tests.

Auf den Spüren des Bibers, Excursion near Tüffenwies, Tuesday
This excursion was meant to follow the traces of beavers. An expert led the tour by introducing the habitats of beavers, how to see the traces they leave behind, and understanding how they live. One attendee wore beaver socks to match the mood!

VeloKino, UZH Irchel Tent, Tuesday & Wednesday
Have you ever ridden on a bike? Have you ever been to a movie? Have you ever done both at the same time? One of our most popular events VeloKino organised with the associations Velorution and Velove, offers exactly this. Live cinema with sustainability themes fully powered by bikes connected to it and some audience riding bikes.

A Planet for the 99%, University of Zürich UZH Zentrum, Thursday
The audience gathered into an Infographic "flash-mob": The richest 10% (left) emit half the greenhouse gases in the world. This was a follow-up to a panel discussion focusing on discussing the link between wealth inequality and planetary issues with a panel of experts with differing views.

Biodiversitätsspiele Nachmittag, Toni-Areal ZHdK, Friday
This event was a board game about biodiversity which was held at Toni-Areal. The first part included introduction to the game and biodiversity themes after which groups divided to enjoy the board game.

Closing Party with Live Music, UZH Irchel Bar, Friday
Our Closing Party brought together two bands who performed amazing live music. The two bands were People Being People and Provincial Penguin Travel Agency. We could not have asked for more wonderful bands to officially close our Sustainability Week at the Irchel Bar.
